Elixir Group is proud to announce Prahovo2027, the most ambitious investment cycle in the course of 34 years of our business operations, which represents a significant step towards the modernization and expansion of Elixir Prahovo, the center of our strategic chemical production.


Investment in the future

In the next four years, we plan to invest more than 300 million euros, making Prahovo2027 the largest private industrial enterprise in the Western Balkans.

Prahovo2027 opens about 300 new jobs, with a focus on the employment and training of engineers to work with the most modern technologies. This investment cycle includes the construction of four new technologically connected greenfield plants, which will be equipped with a completely new industrial infrastructure.

Projects of the Prahovo2027 cycle will transform the existing complex in Prahovo into a modern, technologically integrated, resource- and energy-efficient industrial-chemical park, the first one in Serbia.

New phosphoric acid factory

Doubling of production capacity

We will produce 500 thousand tons of highly concentrated phosphoric acid per year.

Phosphoric acid as a product and raw material for other industries

We will increase the production volume of phosphoric acid in grades required by various technological processes and technical applications, from application in the production processes of plant and animal nutrition, to grades for use in the automotive industry, metal surface treatment, fire protection and other industries.

High quality standards

We will produce food grade phosphoric acid, thereby opening new markets and strategic partnerships. Our new products will become an integral part of a large number of food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products for wide global consumption.

Resource efficiency

The new technology will make it possible to reduce the consumption of thermal energy by 50% and electricity by 25% per ton of phosphoric acid produced, while water consumption will be reduced by at least 30%. Reducing the consumption of energy sources and energy fluids will proportionally contribute to the decarbonization of our production.

Cleaner production

The new technology reduces fluorine emissions six times compared to the existing factory’s technology.

Sustainability in agriculture

Crystalline, liquid and powder water-soluble fertilizers are our new products for plant nutrition that contribute to the global trend of sustainable and regenerative agriculture.

Effective products

Precise application of new products, liquid fertilizers foliarly, over the leaves, and crystalline by fertigation, through the “drop by drop” irrigation system, enables a significant increase in the use of nutrients by plants, which contributes to the optimization of the use of nutrients, higher yield and quality of agricultural products.

Global distribution

The new factory of crystalline fertilizers (monoammonium phosphate) will have an annual capacity of 50,000 tons of products that will be marketed through the existing distribution network of our strategic partner, the German company K+S. Thanks to the developed global distribution, new opportunities for export and increase of production capacity are opening up.

New waste-to-energy plant

Decarbonization of production

By investing in a plant that converts non-recyclable waste into sustainable, locally available energy, we significantly reduce the dependence of our production on the use of fossil fuels and achieve an additional reduction of the carbon footprint by 26% per ton of phosphoric acid produced, thereby directly and indirectly decarbonizing all our products.

State-of-the-art technology

Waste-to-energy plant uses the technology of thermal treatment of non-recyclable waste in the fluidized bed and produces thermal energy with a capacity of 30 MW, in accordance with the latest European regulations and the BREF document from 2019.

Contribution to waste management

Energy utilization of waste contributes to the preservation of the environment in many ways: it prevents air, water and soil pollution by reducing the disposal of non-recyclable waste in landfills and contributes to the fight against climate change by reducing the use of fossil fuels and the emission of gases with the greenhouse effect into the atmosphere.
