Cucumber has a weakly developed root system, which penetrates the soil very shallowly from 5 to 20 cm, so deep humus, raster soils, neutral or slightly acidic reactions are best for its cultivation. Cucumber has increased requirements in terms of basic nutrients. Nitrogen (N) is an element that certainly has a dominant impact on yield.

The presence of sufficient amounts of phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) is necessary for the development of key physiological processes that affect photosynthesis, respiration, water balance, plant health, etc. These processes are directly related to the level and quality of realized yields.
